C02:Application of SOI Image Sensor to Carbon Radiotherapy
Carbon ion radiotherapy nowadays attract remarkable attention as a cancer treatment with a better quality of life and less invasion. Accelerated carbon ions are delivered to the treatment room, passing through many devices for three-dimensional irradiation. As a result, many kinds of radiations besides carbon ions are contained in the treatment irradiation. The radiation quality varies depending on materials along beam pass. This project aims to develop SOI image sensor which can measure both the radiation dose and radiation quality with high spatial resolution. Evaluating this sensor for the carbon ion beam, a novel dosimetric technology for further understanding of radiation field for treatment will be established.
