A01-Ⅱ:Development of PSS-SOI High Resolution Detector (Development of High Resolution Imager with Crystal Array and SOI technology)

For realizing high resolution PET (Positron Emission Tomography) , SPECT (Single Photon Emission CT) and Compton imager, gamma-ray detectors with high spatial and high time resolution is highly required. Recently the pixelated scintillator detectors has been developed and the fine-pitch light sensor is required for these applications. SOI technology is promising because of its integration capability of sensors and integrated circuits. For the functional imaging in the tissue of cells, the charged particle detector with high spatial resolution is required. In this research the development of PSS-SOI sensor for detecting the interaction of charged particles, X ray and gamma rays using SOI technology combined with fine-pitch crystal array (phase separated scintillators) is investigated. The prototype of charged particle sensors and Compton imagers working in high radiation background are developed using a trigger signal from the integrated circuit in SOI detectors for medical and environmental applications.
